Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the ladies finger, green chillies and ginger and saute until the stickiness of the ladies finger goes away.

  • Step 2

    Dissolve the tamarind in 4 cups of water and extract the water in a bowl, let it be a very thin extract.

  • Step 3

    Add this tamarind extract to the ladies finger and add turmeric powder, chilli powder and boil it until the raw smell settles. Add the jaggery to it.

  • Step 4

    ⁠Heat the coconut oil in a small frying pan and once the oil becomes hot add the mustard seeds, urad dal, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida and saute for 2 minutes.

  • Step 5

    Transfer this to the ladies finger saru( kuzhambu) and put off the fire.

  • You can serve the millet rice hot with this ladies’ finger saru.
