A Tasty Snack made Healthy with Millet – Simple Recipe

Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Clean and soak the kodo millet, raw rice, idli rice, and wheat together for 4 to 5 hours.

  • Step 2

    Grind it nicely to a fine batter. Add salt and mix it to combine well.

  • Step 3

    Add water, if required to make it a little thinner than the dosa batter consistency. Add the onions and green chillies and mix it well.

  • Step 4

    Now, heat oil in a kadai. Once the oil becomes hot, pour a ladle of the batter and wait until the adai comes up.(once cooked, it will come up in the oil)

  • Step 5

    When the adai comes up, turn it and after a few seconds take it out and keep it in an oil drainer.

  • Step 6

    Once the oil is drained, transfer the adai to a plate.

  • A Very tasty millet kara adai is ready for serving.

Tips & variations

  • Side dish: This does not require any side dish ! You can eat it with the mixed vegetable kuzhambu. Idli kara podi is also a good combination for this.
