With whole grains – Easy to make recipe
Clean and soak the millet for 30 to 40 minutes.
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and once the oil is hot add the mustard seeds, urad dal, and chana dal and saute them.
Then add the pepper, cumin seeds, green chillies and onion one after the other in the same order. Saute them well until the onion turns transparent.
Now, add the groundnuts and curry leaves and mix well by stirring.
Add the soaked millet to this and saute for 2 to 3 minutes so that it mixes well with the masala.
Add water and salt and close the cooker with the lid. Let it cook for 2 to 3 whistles and put off the fire.
Finally, add ghee and transfer the upma to a serving bowl.
Whole grain kodo millet upma is ready for serving.
Side dish: You can serve this upma with coconut chutney or tomato chutney or any pickle.
