Tasty Jeera Rice made Healthy with Millets – Simple Recipe
Heat ghee in a cooker on medium flame. Add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and star anise and saute them. Add jeera and pepper and fry for a minute / jeera will splutter.
Now add onion and fry until it becomes transparent.
Add the ginger, and garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell settles.
Add the curd and mix well. Once the curd mixes well, add the millet to this and saute for 2 minutes.
Add 1 and 1/2 cups of water and salt. Close the cooker with the lid and cook for one whistle.
Let it cool on its own. Tasty ghee rice with varagu millet is ready for serving.
Side dish: Vegetable kurma is a good choice for ghee rice. Brinjal curry is also a good combination.
