  • Step 1

    Dry roast the fried grams, green chillies and garlic separately and keep them aside.

  • Step 2

    Dry roast the groundnuts and remove the skin.

  • Step 3

    In a mixie, grind the groundnuts along with the chillies, fried grams, garlic, ginger, salt and the tamarind to the chutney consistency adding water.

  • Step 4

    Heat one teaspoon of oil in a small frying pan and add the mustard seeds, urad dal, red chilli, curry leaves and asafoetida and garnish the chutney.

  • Tasty groundnut chutney is ready to be served with the soft millet idlis!
