A Typical South Indian Snack – Healthy and Tasty Sweet
This traditional Ragi Milk Kozhukkattai is a wholesome, sweet dish packed with the goodness of millet, milk, and coconut. Perfect as a healthy snack or festive treat, it’s naturally rich in nutrients and bursting with authentic South Indian flavors.
Dry roast ragi flour. Boil 4 cups of water with a pinch of salt, add ragi flour and stir continuously. Add rice flour and mix well without lumps. Once it forms a solid dough, transfer to a bowl.
Roll the dough into small balls and steam them in an idli cooker or steamer until cooked.
Fry grated coconut in ghee, pulse-grind it lightly, and set aside.
Boil milk in a wide vessel. Add coconut, brown sugar (or palm sugar), and cardamom powder. Simmer for a few minutes.
Drop the steamed ragi balls into the boiling milk mixture. Let it cook for 4–5 minutes.
Serve warm and enjoy this healthy, sweet, and nourishing millet dessert – no side dish needed!
