Simple recipe for a tasty chutney for idli / dosa!

Ingredients

Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Take all the ingredients in a mixie jar, add some water, and grind it.

  • Step 2

    Add enough water to bring the chutney to your desired consistency. Transfer it to a bowl.

  • Step 3

    Take the oil in a small kadai and heat it. Add mustard seeds. Once it splutters, add urad dal, curry leaves, and asafoetida. Add it to the chutney and mix well.

Tips & variations

  • The taste of the chutney differs based on the quantity of fried grams. Without the fried grams, the taste will be unique. You can try both ways.

  • Adding garlic is optional, but it gives a good flavour!
