Simple recipe for a tasty chutney for idli / dosa!
Take all the ingredients in a mixie jar, add some water, and grind it.
Add enough water to bring the chutney to your desired consistency. Transfer it to a bowl.
Take the oil in a small kadai and heat it. Add mustard seeds. Once it splutters, add urad dal, curry leaves, and asafoetida. Add it to the chutney and mix well.
The taste of the chutney differs based on the quantity of fried grams. Without the fried grams, the taste will be unique. You can try both ways.
Adding garlic is optional, but it gives a good flavour!
