A tasty Chettiar Veetu Special Crispy Vadai for Evening Snack
Clean and soak both the rice and dal together for 2 to 3 hours.
Drain the water completely from the soaked content and grind it along with red chillies, dhania, salt, asafoetida, and curry leaves in a wet grinder with very little water.
Cut the onions into pieces (or take the onions in a mixie jar and grind it a little.)
Add the onion little by little to the grinder and grind it to a coarse consistency.(The batter should be thick, not watery)
Transfer the contents to a bowl, add the coriander leaves and mix it well.
Now, heat the oil in a kadai and once the oil becomes hot you can make vadai in the usual way.
Very tasty and crispy vadai is ready for serving. Very healthy too.
Note: Be aware that onions will make the batter watery. So, be cautious in adding water while grinding the content. Adding more onions will give a good taste.
Side dish: This vadai does not need any side dish, but you can have it along with the thick dal rasam or curd!
