A healthy side dish for idli / dosa and for rice
Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a kadai and add urad dal to it. Roast until the dal turns golden.
Add curry leaves, green chillies, and ginger, and saute them until the raw smell vanishes. Now add the grated coconut. Saute the items for 2 more minutes.
Now take the roasted items in a plate and set aside for cooling.
Take these contents in a mixie jar, add salt and ¼ cup of water, and grind them to a coarse thuvaiyal.
Heat the remaining oil in the same kadai and add mustard, curry leaves and asafoetida. Add this to the curry leaves thuvaiyal for enhanced taste.
You can use this as side dish for idli or dosa items. Also, mix with rice.
Curry leaves is rich in iron, antioxidants and it has many more health benefits.
