Simple but tasty food – A Typical South Indian Upma made healthy
Cook the soaked pearl millet in a vessel until it becomes soft, drain the excess water, and keep it aside.
Take the ghee in a frying pan and once it is heated add the mustard seeds, jeera and curry leaves and saute for a few minutes.
Add the urad dal, chana dal, onion, green chillies and ginger and saute well.
Once it is fried, add half a cup of water and salt. Boil it until the water reduces to half of it.
Add the cooked pearl millet and finely chopped coriander leaves.
The pearl millet (kambu) upma is ready to serve.
This kambu upma will be very tasty. Everyone in the family will like it👍🏻
Note: You can even use the broken pearl millet instead of the whole one.
