Whole grains millet rice – Using a cooking vessel or a cooker
Take enough water, bring it to boil and add the soaked millet. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes in medium flame and check whether it is cooked enough and drain the excess water.
Take the prescribed amount of water(1:3 ratio of millet and water) and add the soaked millet. Cook it for 2 to 3 whistles and put off the flame.
The pearl millet rice is ready to serve with our usual sambar / gravy and curries.
Here, the pearl millet is used as such without grinding it to a coarse powder. You can either use a vessel or a cooker and cook the millet rice.
