Method to prepare fresh sambar powder!
Heat 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or ghee in a frying pan.
Add the grated coconut and fry until you get a nice aroma of fried coconut. Transfer it to a plate and let it become cool.
Dry roast chana dal, dhania, pepper, cumin seeds, and red chilli and transfer to the plate along with the coconut.
In a mixie jar take all that and the cashews and grind it coarsely.
Fresh sambar powder is ready!
This sambar powder is used for making a special thick sambar called Araichi vitta Sambar!
