Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Wash the millet and soak it for 30 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Take the water in a thick bottom vessel and heat it. Once the water starts boiling add the millet and salt.

  • Step 3

    Cook it in medium flame until the millet becomes soft. Drain the excess water and transfer the cooked millet to a hotpack.

  • Plain millet rice is ready for serving with Chilli Kuzhambu!

Tips & variations

  • Note: If you are using a cooker, take 4 cups of water and cook it for 3 to 4 whistles. Adjust the water and the cooking time as per the requirement.
