A typical South Indian Healthy Millet Food – Recipe in Simple Steps
Heat the oil in a kadai and once the oil becomes hot add the banana flower and sauté for a few minutes and keep it aside.
Heat a cooker and add ghee. Add cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves.
Next add the ginger garlic paste and chilli powder to that and mix well. Sauté until the raw smell of ginger and garlic gets away.
Add the soaked rice and ragi and sauté for a few minutes and then add 3 ¾ cups of water.
Close the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes (until the content is half-cooked). Now add the fried banana flower to it and cook it for one whistle.
If dry rose petals are available, you can add 1 teaspoon of it along with cloves(Step 2)
Side dish: Onion raita, brinjal curry or any curries of your choice will be a good combination for this.
